Job Summary: The Senior Accountants will possess expertise in financial review and join our finance team across our Construction and Property Management Operations. Successful candidates will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reports, reporting directly to the Controller and handling essential accounting tasks within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements, general ledgers, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.

  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify discrepancies, irregularities, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts, investigating variances, and ensuring proper documentation and resolution.

  • Supervise and manage the outsourced accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight.

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders—such as project managers, property managers, and hospitality teams—to review transactions and provide financial insights.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, providing commentary and analysis as needed.

  • Support year-end income tax filings and regulatory compliance reviews by ensuring accurate and timely financial documentation.

  • Execute ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

  • Certifications: CPA (public accounting audit experience with regional or national firms) or CMA (corporate accounting experience) strongly preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.

    • Proven experience in financial statement preparation for multiple complex entities Required.

    • Demonstrated success in managing month-end close processes Required.

    • Experience supervising or leading accounting staff Required.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
