JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Bakery is searching for a Baker Utility Worker to join their team. Duties include:

• Perform various manual functions required in the make-up, fabrication, or finishing of all products made in the bakery
• Arrange movable equipment and/or machines in proper production sequence. Assist in the operation of bread equipment, roll equipment, ovens, and bread wrapper
• Operate and clean cookie machine, cake depositor, scales, pie machinery, conveyor tables, roll slicer, fillers, doughnut equipment and moline table
• Follow written instructions regarding scaling weights, pan types, make-up instructions, and keep accurate count of product in various stages of production
• Assist more experienced and/or highly skilled bakers in their phase of the operation
• Perform duties necessary to maintain a clean and orderly shop
• Assist in training less skilled employees as requested

Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. Requires the simple use of formulas, charts, and tables to perform various functions in the make-up and fabrication of various bakery products. Up to 3 months of previous or on-the-job training.

Work Schedule: 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Days Off: Saturday, Sunday
