Job Description

As the Global Platform Lead, you will serve in a senior, high-visibility role responsible for the strategic direction and overall success of the machine safety portfolio. You will drive commercial alignment across the broader Rockwell Automation software, hardware and services portfolio as it relates to machine safety. You will report to the Director, Sensing and Safety Business, but partner across all businesses and segments globally. This is a remote-based role. However, Rockwell Automation may expect candidates who reside within a reasonable distance of a Rockwell Automation office to visit the office occasionally for team meetings, collaboration sessions, or business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate the global machine safety roadmap, including setting goals, identifying opportunities for new products or features (including multi-portfolio features), and ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives; synchronize launches and bundle products to demonstrate the greatest value to the market; responsible for leading cross-business unit market sizing and product positioning in machine safety
  • Take an ownership role in architecting the machine safety strategy, including collaboration with product management, advanced technology, corporate development, and engineering teams across all business segments; stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies and competitive product launches.
  • Own the global safety go-to-market model, defining how we sell safety as a system through sales, distributors, integrators, and partners:
    • Partner across the organization to develop the commercial marketing plan for our portfolio of machine safety products and services, aligned to our company's vision and strategic goals; deliver market insights to help support sustainable competitive advantage and drive commercial initiatives to achieve revenue results; closely align with commercial marketing, global sales regions, market access and portfolio engineering.
    • Develop integrated campaigns comprised of market intelligence, reputation, demand generation, and sales/partner enablement programs/tactics. Collaborate with peers across marketing, market access, and sales including regions to gather input and drive alignment. Partner with regional Marketing teams, CoEs, and market access, to execute marketing campaigns in support of business objectives. Provide guidance to key regional stakeholders on prioritizing investment and resources based on customer needs and business priorities.
    • Define and scale the safety ecosystem (safety system integrators, safety services, safety distributors specialists, TUV subject matter experts) to position Rockwell Automation as the preferred machine safety supplier globally
    • Partner directly with industry and global/strategic account teams to lead customer acquisition and conversion, driving safety specifications at key accounts; capitalize on Logix attachment for safety devices through safety system strategy and roadmap, ensuring machine safety strengthens our broader control platform position
  • Develop thought leadership through content creation and publishing, hosting webinars or in-person events, speaking at industry conferences, and participating on standards committees to ensure our portfolio of products and services are positioned effectively to deliver the business outcomes, applications, and capabilities, prospects and customers care most about; lead the global community of machine safety domain experts to synthesize Rockwell's position on emerging trends and regulations.
