About the role

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. What we do:

The Total Rewards Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, leaves, short- and long-term disability, worker’s compensation and 401(k) plan. The position also maintains working knowledge of the federal and state legislation influencing benefits to ensure programs are current with regulations and practices, trends, and costs.

What you can do:

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Assists with New Hire Orientations
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment
  • Assists with the open enrollment process
  • Administers the tuition reimbursement program
  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges
  • Ensures benefits-related filings
  • Perform relevant tasks as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in an equivalent role (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
  • Sophisticated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Validated communication skills with an emphasis on tone and tact
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent vendor management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

You may also be able to contribute:

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential
