As a Systems Engineer with Siemens Healthineers in Knoxville, TN, you will take a central role in shaping the future of our advanced medical imaging products. This position is responsible for driving innovation by leading the conceptualization and design of new features, translating clinical needs into robust system requirements. You will have ownership across the entire product lifecycle, ensuring world-class quality through validation and integration, collaborating with global teams, and upholding patient safety through rigorous risk management. We are looking for a proactive, strategic thinker with experience in a regulated industry who excels at data analysis, mentorship, and working across international teams to solve complex challenges in healthcare.

Shaping the future of our products by leading the conceptualization of new features and translating clinical needs into robust system requirements for key areas like Departmental Workflow and Quality Control.
Ensuring world-class product quality by championing both functional and clinical validation, driving the integration and test strategy, and investigating and resolving complex issues related to performance, usability, and reliability.
Driving global collaboration by serving as a key technical leader to ensure the seamless integration of complex hardware and software subsystems developed by our international teams.
Elevating the team's technical capabilities by mentoring and coaching fellow engineers on complex technical subjects and sharing your expertise.
Upholding our commitment to patient safety by driving system risk management activities in accordance with ISO 14971 and internal Siemens Healthineers processes.

Technical Expertise:
Experience with data analysis to assess and improve system reliability.
A strong grasp of requirements engineering for complex functions like Departmental Workflow (DWF) and Image Analysis & Viewing Applications (IAVA).
Programming and Scripting: Experience with a programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to write tools for data analysis, data mining, and to assist in troubleshooting.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to convey ideas and concepts to a wide range of international audiences, including the clinical community, product management, and other engineers.
Teamwork: A positive attitude with demonstrated experience working on large cross-functional teams with the ability to also work autonomously.
Required skills for the success of this role:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a systems engineering or development role for complex medical devices or in a related, highly regulated industry.
International and domestic travel may be required (up to 10%).
