The Senior Fund Operations Manager ensures the efficient and compliant operation of MissionSquare fund activities. This position plays a critical role in partnering with our custodian on non-US market opening/maintenance forms, proxy voting oversight, corporate actions oversight, security lending oversight, being the custodian security administrator, handling limited securities trading, completing Form 13 filings, and performing compliance testing, with the purpose of safeguarding investor interests, maximizing fund performance, and ensuring regulatory adherence.
Essential Functions for this role include:
- Manage and oversee non-US country maintenance and forms, ensuring compliance with local regulations and reporting requirements. Perform daily ownership monitoring of non-US positions.
- Responsible for being the custodian security administrator with oversight responsibility over certain fund operations such as proxy voting, corporate actions, and security lending. Proxy voting activities include reviewing voting guidelines and proxy voting policies and procedures. Lead due diligence regular and annual due diligence meetings with the custodian.
- Coordinate trading activities, including trade execution, settlement, and reconciliation, while ensuring compliance with trading policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and file Form 13 reports in accordance with regulatory deadlines and requirements.
- Conduct certain compliance testing and reviews to ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Examples may include guideline reviews and liquidity compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and external teammates, including our custodian, legal, finance, and regulatory agencies, to address operational issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of investment professionals, including training, coaching, and performance management. Manage and execute strategic business initiatives - interviewing subject matter experts, developing system requirements, creating and executing test cases, writing and updating checklists, and providing training.
- Solve complex problems related to fund operations using natural curiosity and analytical skills.

If you have the following skills, we encourage you to apply:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience

Five to ten years’ experience with fund operations, due diligence, data or management.
- Advanced degree or professional certification such as CFA or CAIA preferred.

Knowledge of global securities market practices required.

Prior experience with market-prominent custodians is preferred.

Experience with querying databases and with using data visualization software such as PowerBI is preferred.
- Experience with fund operations.
- Strong proficiency with Excel. Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Access, and Teams.
- Prior experience with SQL, creating database queries, using logic to solve problems, and data visualizations systems such as PowerBI.
- Strong proficiency in procedure writing, auditing, and managing projects.
- Must be a problem solver with a natural curiosity about how things operate.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
