Position Summary:

The Florida Atlantic University School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) invites applications for a tenure-line assistant professor position starting Fall 2025 on the Boca Raton campus. While all substantive areas of expertise will be considered, we are particularly interested in applicants with research and teaching expertise in either (a) victimology (e.g., human trafficking) or (b) forensics (e.g., crime scene analytics, digital forensics). Exceptional candidates will engage in research or instructional activities that cross disciplinary boundaries (e.g., neuroscience, public health, psychology, genetics, education, public policy) or incorporate emerging technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, social network analysis, virtual reality) to strengthen science, practice, and our communities.

This position is a full-time, 9-month appointment that begins August 4, 2025. Faculty are expected to teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs and across multiple modalities, including fully online courses. The current teaching load is 3:2, though pre-tenure assistant professors receive release time to establish their research program. Teaching over the summer is available for additional compensation.
