Job Description
The Maintenance Team Manager is responsible for planning, supervising and ensuring execution of routine, planned and emergency maintenance repair activities that occur on the night shift. The Maintenance Team Manager is responsible for performance review and skill development process for the night shift maintenance team members.
Schedule: Nights / 3rd Shift (Sunday - Thursday 10:00 pm - 6:30 am)
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and assign work for all maintenance members using the MP2 CMMS
- Prepare and deliver night shift team member performance reviews and build development plans for the same.
- Promote and facilitate the personal development of team members by identifying training needs and working with site leadership to fund and schedule training.
- Audit members to ensure that Safe Work Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and training instructions are being followed.
- Lead efforts to identify root cause and preventative actions for safety, and/or quality related issues.
- Work closely with operations team managers and area managers to present and maintain consistent expectations on the night shift.
- Support all 5-S, housekeeping, ELS projects and recycling programs.
- Collaborate with other functional areas to resolve process and training related problems and help to develop improved manufacturing processes.
- Assign responsibilities and ensure collaboration is used to improve safety and efficiency when restoring flow to the production equipment.
- Be an active and present member of restore flow efforts up to and including the hands on diagnosing of equipment, or process related issues and the subsequent repair activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 2-yrs experience in maintenance leadership highly preferred and/or 5 years progressive maintenance experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as a role model for others and enforce adherence to all safety practices, policies and procedures.
- Must be able to actively contribute in a team based environment, encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
- Must have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise, and take the initiative to understand root cause then communicate/educate team in a timely manner.
- Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
- Must have a strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in related field of study
- 3-5 years of experience using MP2 CMMS.
- 3-5 years of maintenance supervision and/or management.
- Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Project Management and Time Management skills.
- Track record of implementing Lean manufacturing processes.
