Why we need a Chief Administrative Officer
In our first three years of operation, WorkMoney has undergone exponential team growth to support an expanding portfolio of high impact cross-functional programs. As we continue to launch new programs, our internal operations have grown increasingly complex. We’ve no doubt reached a point where senior administrative leadership is needed, and we are looking for someone ready to roll up their sleeves and oversee teams running point on people operations, accounting and financial management, compliance and risk mitigation, and organizational systems and tools. The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) will bring an administrative perspective to our organizational decision making and help us get ahead of risk and compliance issues that emerge as our programs, organizational structure, and workforce continue to grow and evolve.
What the Chief Administrative Officer will do
This is a newly created role that will take on the management of two high functioning teams alongside outside legal counsel, who together lead people operations, human resources, financial management, contracting, and organizational technology systems. In addition to day to day oversight and supervision of these teams, the Chief Administrative Officer will be responsible for driving clarity and alignment on organizational stewardship activities in partnership with the Executive team. Responsibilities will include:
- Administrative Oversight: oversee day to day business operations, human resources, and organization-wide technology systems; develop and implement administrative policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Risk Management: ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including preparing any reporting necessary; identify and mitigate risks related to our administrative functions; support General Counsel and/or outside counsel in legal functions.
- People Operations and Culture: oversee the cultivation of a strong org-wide culture, where all team members feel supported, valued, and set up for success; oversee the organization’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategy and program.
- Resource Management: manage and allocate WorkMoney’s financial resources to support our strategy and goals; develop and monitor budgets for departments; and, drive annual budgeting processes and quarterly budget revisions.
- Team Leadership: lead and develop a team of administrative, accounting, and people operations professionals; provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Strategic Leadership: work closely with senior leadership to support the development of organizational goals and strategy; provide insight and recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness and health; regularly prepare reports and presentations for the CEO and Boards of Directors.
Why Join Our Team?
Our workplace is dynamic and we aren’t afraid to pivot when things don’t work. We’re mission-driven, hard working, and scrappy AF. We have a good time working on hard things, and embrace the line ‘feedback is a gift’. We jump in to help each other, and make time to reflect when things go well and not so well. The truth of the matter is: we’re doing meaningful work with really cool people and having a great time doing it.
While this is a fully remote workplace, domestic travel is required for full team annual retreats and intermittent team working sessions and retreats.
