Job Purpose and Impact
The High Performance Innovation (HPI) Senior Process Specialist will support a core technology component area for Cargill’s Industrial and Food Starch business as well as customers. In this role, you will drive and support the research group in a given implementation of business defined technology needs. This position serves as a leader in process development, process improvement and piloting efforts and as a resource in one or more broad core technology components. You will develop, lead and execute research projects that are complex in nature and may require multidisciplinary approaches. You will connect with Operations functions and associated tagged R&D and Manufacturing Technology groups to identify new technology innovation or continuous improvement opportunities, propose projects and take technical leadership and project management responsibility. You will draw on your strong technical background and field experience (lab, pilot, plant experience), demonstrating capability to develop good understanding of production processes and enthusiasm for new process technology development.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide subject matter expertise to project teams and functions by offering technical guidance and scientific insight for new process development and process improvements.
- Manage regional High-Performance Innovation (HPI) projects including small Build projects in line with Cargill Project Delivery Process (PDP)
- Lead multi-functional project teams across various functions, including R&D, Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering
- Ensure projects proceed according to plan and results are documented and communicated.
- Lead new product or high performance innovation efforts.
- Take responsibility for the definition and execution of the technical work packages linked to project activities in line with project team
- Identify and lead evaluations of external process or manufacturing technologies or facilities.
- Identify and develop new process or product opportunities that create distinct value and enable business growth.
- Get strong know how of R&D capabilities and networking with all parts of the R&D organization and outside partners
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to a subordinate group.
- Support and comply with corporate and local safety and food or product safety policies and procedures.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Food Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering) or equivalent experience
- Expertise in process technologies and engineering principles relevant to process development and scale-up
- Strong English language skills, both written and spoken
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or 6 to 7 years’ experience in process development
- Prior experience in Plant and/or Manufacturing Technology
- Technical, processing experience in the starch area (laboratory, pilot or plant scale)
- Proven project management or leadership experience and skills
