About the role
Description
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing the security, planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of company-wide information systems and processes including but not limited to cybersecurity, infrastructure, software, artificial intelligence, data analytics and customer experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining an on-going 10-year, 3-year and annual IT vision to include the following IT pillars: cybersecurity, infrastructure, software, artificial intelligence, data analytics and customer experience
- Establishes, executes, and maintains strategies for each pillar to be informed by the vision and in collaboration with company leadership
- Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships with counterparts, software vendors and industry organizations
- Tracks, manages, and communicates IT budget including burn rate, actual vs. budget and capital plan for each IT pillar Responsible for the protection of IT infrastructure, edge devices, networks, and data; prevention of data breaches, monitoring, and response to cyber-attacks
- Oversees cybersecurity strategy and business partnerships including software, legal, and insurance
- Initiate and oversee routine security testing measures such as audits, table-top exercises, and response plans
- Initiate and oversee internal training strategies and software to ensure employees have the highest level of knowledge regarding potential threats and attacks
- Ensures data security and privacy of IT systems and processes
- Continually maintains and seeks out knowledge of business, processes, and objectives in coordination with internal stakeholders and user in order to recommend strategies and solutions
- Monitors and reports progress on development projects, resource utilization and production performance to executive leadership
- Identifies and recommends modern technologies and services that will improve efficiency, processes and operations
- Reviews requests for additional services and upgrades, assessing the costs and benefits to the organization
- Proactively and effectively communicates technology strategies, policies, and updates internally
- Directs and coordinates periodic professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies and programming of information, communication, and office automation systems
- Researches, communicates, and directs project implementation; acts as a change management champion
- Establishes project level budgets, monitors progress, and presents final report to management for each project
- Develops, implements, maintains, and oversees department structure, roles and responsibilities and leads team
- Maintains pace with technological progress and company needs by directing continual improvements of IT staff, equipment and procedures
- Utilizes agile methodology and VTO process to effectively execute on IT vision in a timely manner
- Drives a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science or equivalent training and experience required. Masters degree in business administration or computer science preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a technical role required, with significant leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrated success in implementing process and system improvements in a business environment
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies based on broader organizational goals
- Ability to positively represent the organization as a senior leader
- Strong experience working with internal business leaders, legal counsel and senior leadership as needed
- Skill in strategic planning, project management and change management
- Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization
- Ability to handle changing priorities and demonstrate sound judgement under stress
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments across all levels of the organization
Physical Demands
· Prolonged periods sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
· Ability to travel to various company locations and business meetings/conferences.
