Digital Experience (DX) enhances customer experience citywide by aligning digital technologies with traditional marketing and communications efforts. DX manages and promotes the city's priority messaging, brand identity, website, digital marketing platforms, Denver 8 TV, and the city's municipal and community television stations. DX provides marketing and video production resources to city agencies and departments and administration of the city's cable franchise and public education access agreements. 

What We Offer

This is an on‐call position which will work 15-20 hours per week. The pay range for this position $37.66/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.

Location

In this position you can expect to work at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team. 

As the Production Support Technician for Denver Community Media (DCM), you will have professional experience in production control room operations, videography, video editing and strong customer service. Audio mixing board experience is not required but is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Multi-media studio & podcast studio set up & take down, technical troubleshooting & A/V production support. Ability to coach and answer questions for beginner producers when operating A/V equipment, setting up for, and troubleshooting standard studio and field production shoots as needed.
  • Collaborate with the DCM team, partners, and members and execute the agreed-upon concept, format, and content of assigned productions and programs. Discuss technical details and implementation of productions. 
  • Responsible for several administrative activities to support member services including but not limited to: provide excellent customer service and support for new member registration, facility and equipment reservations, class registrations, fee transactions
  • Field equipment gear prep, check out, and return (check-ins/cleaning)
  • Ability to complete projects on time and when a quick turnaround is necessary
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work well with the public both in-person, via telephone, and virtually. Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse community
  • Independent self-starter able to stay on track and complete assignments with minimal oversight
  • Provide backup support for the team and perform additional duties as assigned
  • Required Schedule Availability:
    • Fridays 4pm – 9pm
    • Saturdays 9am – 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Visual Effects & Motion Graphics, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional experience directing and editing television documentary, magazine, or news shows.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
