JOB DESCRIPTION
The Attorney General’s Office in Augusta has an anticipated vacancy for a full-time position as Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division to specialize in investigating and litigating consumer protection, unauthorized practice of law (including immigration law), and privacy cases. The position primarily involves enforcing the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act in state court and participating in coordinated multistate consumer investigations, but there may also be opportunities to work on other matters within the Division, which includes antitrust, charities, and tobacco law, in addition to consumer protection law enforcement.
Typically, the position involves limited out of state travel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Essential qualifications for this position include strong written and oral advocacy skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Candidates must be well-organized and manage multiple tasks effectively. Prior civil litigation experience, particularly on the plaintiff’s side, is preferred. Candidates must be members of the Maine Bar in good standing.
