The Value Stream Leader has full Profit & Loss responsibility for their customer value stream.  They are expected to run their programs semi-independently as the chair of the cross-functional Integrated Program Team.  Building relationships with customers, internal team members, and other leaders within Collins EACS is a priority.  The role is highly visible and dynamic both internally and externally.

What You Will Do

• Accountable for the full lifecycle of products including design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and long-term strategic business plans.
• Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for assigned customer(s), including but not limited to Value Engineering, Supplier Transfers, Supplier rebid, Overhead Cost Controls, and other functions.  P&L at this level ranges from $5M-$20M dependent on assigned customer. 
• Serve as the face of the organization to our customer on project management, performance, problem resolution, and improvement strategies.
• Maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to all aspects of the program(s) both internally and externally to the customer.
• Identifies and addresses program problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of programs.
• Leads a robust communication plan with the customer base, ensuring customer feedback is understood and integrated into the execution of programs.
• Leads decision making for the IPT and applies critical thinking where incomplete data exists.
• Develops internal and external networks and communicates vision to IPT and stakeholders within and outside of the function.
• Provides support to manufacturing functions to ensure performance and develop a culture of continuous improvement to optimize efficiency and quality.
• Provides inputs & drives projects to support the strategic plans.
• Ensures a Continuous Improvement mentality is prevalent in the organization, actively leading and participating in Lean activities to drive quality and efficiency.
• Participates in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization's interests in partnership with Contracts and Business Development.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally (when circumstances permit) depending on customer.  Travel will also be expected to Rome, NY once per month.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience 
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract ​
