In this role you will be providing back office support for physicians and patients in the assigned Division of Dermatology Clinic(s), which includes Santa Monica and Westwood. The patients are escorted to exam rooms. Vitals are taken with a chief complaint. Surgical trays are prepared as necessary, as well as the cleaning of the exam room to prepare for the next case. Various reports such as lab, pathology, and physician’s notes are prepared ahead of time for the physician to see the patient. You will also play a significant role in the flow and the line of communication required to maintain an adequate, organized rhythm of the clinic on a consistent daily basis. Due to the various demands on floor, you will be expected, at times, to maintain a rapid flow while performing at the quality of care required by the clinic’s needs.
Salary Range: $28.06 - $37.02/hourly
Job Qualifications

- A medical assistant diploma or certificate as follows
- Documentation of completing of a medical assistant program from a medical assistant school that is accredited by ASSCS, ACCET, CAAHEP or ABHES or
- Documentation of national certification for medical assistant issued by CMA, NCCT or AMT or
- Documentation of completing a medical assistant program and demonstrated completion of no less than 10 clock hours of training in administering injections and performing skin tests; 10 hours of training in venipuncture and skin puncture for the purpose of withdrawing blood; at least 10 of each intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections and 10 skin tests, and/or at least 10 venipuncture and 10 skin punctures; 10 hours of training in administering medical by inhalation.
- BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomology and life threatening medical problems.
- Ability to administer CPR.
- Ability to skillfully administer oral, IM and subcutaneous medications.
- Ability to push, pull or carry 30 lbs or more
- Ability to perform venipuncture with skill, adhering
