Job Description Summary
The Managing Director of Bermuda will work with a cross-functional global team and a wide range of public authorities and thought leaders to represent Transamerica in Bermuda, manage the legal entities in the jurisdiction, and advocacy of regulatory strategy.Job Description
Responsibilities
- Execute on multi-year plans for shaping Bermuda presence and advocating regulatory strategy for Transamerica in alignment with Aegon companies.
- Oversee the legal entities located in Bermuda with day-to-day presence in Bermuda, manage board of director meeting agendas and other communications with the board of directors.
- Coordinate relationships with internal and external constituencies, key domestic and international industry associations, state legislators and international supervisors, and other third party advocates.
- Network with industry peers and build a better understanding of advocacy, grassroots, lobbying strategy in Bermuda.
- Manage staff in Bermuda.
- Represent Transamerica in Bermuda on industry association (BILTR)
- Monitor, analyze and report on key Bermuda government policy and legislation.
- Represent Transamerica and Aegon’s position on key legislative and policy issues.
- Work with the various Transamerica company divisions to determine the advocacy position on issues.
Qualifications
- 15 years of professional experience at the intersection of business, government, and international policy
- Advanced accounting, actuarial, or related discipline
- Thorough and complete understanding of the structure, organization and complexities of financial services regulatory bodies in the U.S., EU, and others
- Extensive network of professional contacts in states, U.S. government, and internationally
- Experience and understanding of insurance issues and the workings of government
- Track record of relationships with domestic and international regulators
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact at the highest corporate and political levels
- Strong and experienced management skills
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen
- Ability and willingness to work across multiple time zones, countries and cultures

**Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to applicable pay transparency and compensation posting laws. It is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations.**
Compensation:
The salary for this position generally ranges between $250,000-$275,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
Bonus Eligibility:
This position is also eligible for an Annual Bonus, at a targeted percentage, based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance. This position may also be eligible for long term incentives.
