Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking a Construction Intern for our New York, NY office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
- Performs entry level work under close supervision of experienced staff members.
- Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff, seeking clarification when needed.
- Meets required schedules while producing quality work, demonstrating attention to detail and time management skills.
- Will report to Pre-Construction Services Group within Program Project Management (PPM) business line.
- Assists in the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Participates in site visits and field observations to gain practical experience in construction processes.
- Supports project teams in various administrative tasks, such as document control and meeting minutes.
- Learns and applies safety protocols and regulations relevant to construction sites.
- Collaborates with team members on research tasks related to construction materials, methods, and technologies.
- Assists in the coordination of subcontractors and vendors under the guidance of project managers.
- Develops proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have completed a minimum of 2 years of study
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Good communication skills
