Job Description Summary

The Medical University of South Carolina's Department of Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenured faculty position (open rank) to serve as a core member of the Physical Therapy Doctorate (DPT) Program in a hybrid format. We aim to fill one hybrid faculty position with a diverse range of specialties, backgrounds, and expertise covering the full scope of the DPT curriculum in acute, ambulatory, and outpatient neurological physical therapy. Core faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program are expected to teach an agreed-upon workload within their areas of expertise to meet the needs of the Division. We seek candidates who enhance physical therapy education through innovative, student-centered teaching.

Ideally, we seek a collegial individual with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (or tDPT) and American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) or other certification credentials appropriate for their teaching responsibilities. This is a non-tenured track faculty position with a salary and rank commensurate with qualifications.

Candidates from all clinical and teaching backgrounds relevant to rehabilitation will be fully considered. Candidates for Assistant or Associate must have a proven track record of scholarship, graduate student advising, and teaching at the Doctoral level consistent with MUSC-ranked faculty. Ideal candidates would identify with the MUSC College of Health Professions’ core values: Collaboration, Creativity, Diversity, Excellence, and Integrity.
