An individual contributor role that provides a high level of expertise in the design, development, and integration of strategic, high-priority data applications across the entire software development lifecycle (Agile). This role may also provide guidance to others to support the building of complex technical capabilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

• Evaluate complex client area requirements, processes and designs, and prepare application system specifications.
• Develop modular, scalable and reusable Workday Integrations and RaaS web services for multiple enterprise downstream business systems, HR Data lake and external third party systems using Workday integration technologies like Core Connector, Document Transformation, Workday Studio and EIB on the Workday Integration Cloud platform.
• Create Business Intelligence (BI) reports using Alteryx, Workday Report Writer and Studio Report Designer tools.
• Design and build data migration extracts with data transformations from Mainframe Legacy systems to Workday using JCL, COBOL and DB2.
• Act as a technical consultant to programming staff and business unit to mentor staff in all phases of the program development, testing and implementation process.
• Instruct, direct, and review the programming, design, or applications prepared by colleagues.
• Coordinate and manage schedules/timelines with client area and other IT areas (e.g., infrastructure, testing, and solutions).
• Research and evaluate new, alternative solutions, and architecture to recommend the most efficient and cost-effective solution for the systems design, including estimating costs as necessary.
• Act as a liaison between clients, vendors, consulting resources, and the applications area.
• Assist with client relationship management, contract negotiations, and ensure requirements from clients are met.
• Participate in developing recommendations for architecture direction and applications portfolio.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related 
• 5 (five) years of experience as a software developer/engineer, data engineer, technology lead, technical analyst, consultant or related.  

Must have some work experience with each of the following:

Mon-Fri., 8:30am – 4:45pm, 37.5 hours/week, $120,328 per year, overtime exempt.  This position qualifies for CNA’s employee referral policy program.
