Job Description
The Research Technician plays a role in developing new products for LGC Maine Standards. Under the close direction of his/her supervisor, he/she will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties under LGC Maine Standards’ design plan (governed by 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485).
What you’ll do
- Prepare chemical solutions (reagents, buffers, etc.) according to standard procedures.
- Receive, verify, and assign log numbers to ordered materials.
- Assist Research Chemists and Scientists as directed.
- Participate in the development of products by preparing equipment, filling, and labelling.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, stress test study support and recording results.
- Data entry into spreadsheets.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment using operating instructions.
- Assist in placing orders and maintaining inventory.
Qualifications
- The desired candidate will have a minimum of an Associates degree (or equivalent college studies) in Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline
- High school graduate with significant relevant experience may be considered.
- He/she should be familiar with basic laboratory techniques (i.e. use of volumetric glassware, pipetting, balance use, centrifugation, safety procedures, etc.).
- High attention to technical detail and documentation according to procedures, and the maintenance of an accurate and comprehensive laboratory notebook is required.
