Sales and Catering Manager position is responsible for the management of accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals (i.e., room nights, ADR, REVPAR, catering, room rental, etc.) are achieved or exceeded. The position will lead the development and solicitation of group business from all markets to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel.
This position performs catering & group sales duties and aids in managing accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all catering revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. This position is responsible for booking events, creating banquet event orders, contracts and finalizing function details. In addition to catering duties, this person will also be responsible for coordinating wedding and special event business, corporate & leisure room blocks and corporate guest room inquires.
Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Move throughout property to conduct site inspections. Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the Hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current, and potential clients.
- Handles account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
- Communicates with other departments to ensure proper handling and servicing of accounts.
- Maintains all files, correspondence, and records in the department.
- Answers telephones and responds appropriately to requests.
- Travels locally to conduct outside calls, promote the Hotel and review competition reader boards to develop leads.
- Travels out of town to solicit business.
- Prepares information, meets with, and entertains clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.
- Represents Hotel at trade shows as specified by corporate trade show attendance guide. Sets up exhibits.
- Assists the supportive staff with the maintenance of sales files.
- Orders amenities for meeting planners or VIP’s.

Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An experienced Catering/Sales Manager with 2+ years of hotel sales experience
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt sales processes and systems.
- Working knowledge of OnQ, Amadeus Sales & Event Management
- 2 or 4-year college degree a plus
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills
- Team player, professional, and lead with integrity
- Available to meet guests which may include weekends
- Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
- Engaged, authentic, and prepared to prospect, sell, and maintain accounts to positively impact revenues for a "best in class" hotel!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals as well as solicitation call goals.
- Proactively conduct solicitation calls conduct sales tours and entertain clients specific to Social Corporate Business or SMERF as applicable by property.
- Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts specific to Leisure SMERF Business Travel (BT) and/or Groups as applicable by property.
- Monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Adheres to Aimbridge Hospitality’s established regulations company standards catering/meeting standards and related catering sales metrics.
- Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments.
- Ensure that the Daily Event List Banquet Event Order/Guarantee Sheet and Ten Day Event Schedule are generated on a timely basis and ensure accuracy.
