Classification: Assistant Administrator
Status (exempt/non-exempt): Exempt
Salary/Grade: $63,174-$65,726 annually, $5,264-$5,477 monthly
Reports to: SBDC Director
Percentage: 100%
Annual/Academic year: Annual-12 months
This is a grant funded position with a current end date of June 30th, 2025.

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is the largest network of business advisors in the state, providing technical assistance to more small businesses and underrepresented businesses than any other organization in the state. Our advising is free and confidential, and we pride ourselves in being of service to all of our communities in the state of Oregon. POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of the SBDC (Small Business Development Center) under the supervision of the SBDC Director, assists with establishing goals and strategies to meet the SBDC’s key performance indicators. This position is responsible for budgetary development and execution of grant funding. The Assistant Director of the SBDC is responsible for the hiring, onboarding and training of the part-time SBDC advisors, and provides leadership to the business community through advising and business outreach.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development and Management
- Research data on current market and demographic information to support program development and delivery.
- Lead the design and implementation of SBDC approved training workshops and seminars for small businesses.
- Analyze business needs in the service area to determine course outlines and program topics, and to teach workshops, seminars, and classes.
- Engage in the Oregon SBDC Network (OSBDCN) including participation in professional certification and other training programs.
- Review data to determine effectiveness of training programs, instruction and program delivery, and to reassess the changing needs of small businesses.
- Assist in the expansion of private and public sector initiatives to increase and improve services to the small business community. Provide a specialized focus on approved business plan programs, financial tools, expanded programs and access to capital support and training.
- Work with the director and advisory committee to update OCCC SBDC strategic plan, as needed.
Employee Supervision
- Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of part-time SBDC Advisors, in collaboration with the Director of the SBDC.
- Develops, implements and reviews training materials for the SBDC advisors, with guidance from the Director of the SBDC.
- Assigns and reviews client workload for SBDC Advisors in coordination with the Director of the SBDC.
Budget and Data
- Prepare periodic reports on businesses served and services provided in support of SBDC grant requirements.
- Enter advising records into the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network (OSBDCN) management system (Center IC).
- Monitor and maintain Center IC data quality, provide support and accountability for SBDC performance goals.
- Work with funding partners and college leadership to provide information for tracking client and program success.
Partnership/ Community Engagement
- Provide effective outreach to promote SBDC services to Lincoln County businesses.
- Assist and participate in OCCC SBDC Business Events, including board meetings, community meetings and special projects, as assigned.
- Participate in partnership development and meetings.
- Act as liaison between local government agencies or people regulating, assisting or affecting business management and operations in Lincoln County.
