Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Alejandro Gutierrez lab, Division of Molecular Oncology

A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the Alejandro Gutierrez lab in the Division of Molecular Oncology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Our overarching interests are to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying resistance to cancer therapy, and to devise novel strategies for therapeutic intervention. Our approach combines unbiased genetic screens with functional genetics and experimental therapeutics in genetically engineered and patient-derived models of cancer.  Available projects are focused on investigating the biology and therapeutic targeting of amino acid and tRNA homeostasis.

A doctoral degree (PhD or MD) is required, together with a strong track record of productivity, as evidenced by first-authored publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The ideal candidate will have a track record of applying innovative experimental strategies to tackle important biologic problems, together with the communication and interpersonal skills required to make a positive contribution to a thriving intellectual environment.
