Job Description:

This is an Agency Director position and the singular employee of the agency. This position serves under the guidance of the Abstracters Board of Examiners directors.

The Abstracters Board is charged with the responsibility of supervising, inspecting, examining and reviewing the practices of licensees required under the abstracters' licensing law and regulating the registration and certification of individual abstracters, as well as those companies engaged in the business of abstracting.

The Director reviews applications for approval of seminars and continuing education programs and a decision is rendered on the number of credit hours approved for each program.


 

Job Duties: The director is responsible for administering the directives of the Abstracters Board of Examiners including advising the board and maintaining a high degree of communication with the board; organizing board meetings, establishing and setting priorities for the agency and its licensees. The director is responsible for preparing the budget and its over-site. He/she will investigate applicants for licensure and monitor the testing of them, as well as implementing an efficient process for license renewal. The director will maintain and update a roster of all licensees as well as maintaining its website.  The director will comply with statute and rules and regs governing the Abstracters Board of Examiners. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.

Requirements / Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires experience with management, budgeting, accounting, finance as well as Word, Excel, Access.  

Preferred Qualifications: A real estate background is helpful but not necessary.

Other: Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: All general office skills are beneficial. Must be proficient in many things and be able to self-direct.
