JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries and key account reconciliations while also assisting with the preparation and distribution of various internal financial statements to management and ensuring that all transactions and documentation complies with US GAAP. This position reports to the Financial Reporting Manager.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and post journal entries and take an active role in the monthly close process.
- Prepare and manage monthly account reconciliations and periodic balance sheet analysis.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of internal financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability and accuracy.
- Assist in the coordination of the Company's annual audit with the independent auditors.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
- Assist with research of accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements to ensure US GAAP compliance.
- Conduct thorough corporate overhead reviews and prepare detailed analysis for monthly financial reviews.
- Assist with the preparation of all other financial reporting, including debt covenant certificates, MD&A memos, PE firm requests, and the annual financial statements and notes for audit.
- Support year end closing.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numeric skills
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication, verbal, and written skills
- Must be result and profit oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations and perform multifaceted projects
- Must be highly motivated and have the ability to multi-task
- Must be detail-oriented
- Expert computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook, experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus
Requirements
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, combined with 2+ years’ experience in Public Accounting or Accounting/Finance
- CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred
