Role Summary

For this KM project, MPC is seeking a Senior Ontologist with 10+ years of experience to provide knowledge management and process improvement expertise. The Senior Ontologist's technical expertise and experience will be used to demonstrate leadership in modeling knowledge systems and must have a strong background with building knowledge systems to deliver comprehensive taxonomy and ontology models.The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the knowledge management program, including developing and implementing knowledge management processes and procedures, creating ontologies, taxonomies and providing guidance and training to personnel.

What You Will Be Doing

Knowledge Organization and Classification: Define and implement knowledge taxonomy/ontology and metadata tagging systems to organize and categorize knowledge assets.
Ensure consistency and accuracy in knowledge classification.
Analyze knowledge management solutions and aid in the selection of the best software solution.
Implement efficient search and retrieval mechanisms to access knowledge.
Lead discovery of current knowledge artifacts, systems, and architecture.
Develop and implement knowledge-sharing platforms, communities of practice, and training programs.
Knowledge Capture and Creation: Work with subject matter experts to identify, capture, and document tacit and explicit knowledge.
Knowledge Storage and Retrieval: Establish and maintain a centralized repository for knowledge assets, including documents, databases, and multimedia content.

What We Need From You (Required)

10+ years of relevant experience in business process design and content strategy
5+ years of relevant experience working in ontology and/or taxonomies
Experience developing and designing ontologies to provide comprehensive domain coverage
Experience expanding and refining the expansion of data retrieval techniques to utilize knowledge graphs
Ontology semantic technology evangelist who can work across different teams
Experience establishing new knowledge management policies.
Experience creating and managing knowledge management processes.
Ability to design/implement/manage/maintain Ontologies
Experience with data semantics and knowledge graphs
Ability to use the architecture created for the Ontology in a semantic search
Knowledge of Semantic Web technologies (RDF/s, OWL), query languages (SPARQL) and validation/reasoning standards (SHACL, SPIN)
Knowledge of open-source and commercial ontology engineering editors (e.g. Protege, TopQuadrant products, PoolParty)
