Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Design and Analysis Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join our Environmental Control Systems Integration team located in Everett, WA.

Position Overview:

The Environmental Control Systems (ECS) team is an organization of highly skilled women and men responsible for defining and integrating airplane systems for airplane cabin pressurization, air conditioning, ice and rain protection, fire protection, and avionics cooling. Our mission is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for passengers, flight crew, electronics, and cargo via the most reliable and cost-effective solutions. A successful applicant is expected to have a well-rounded education within a engineering, scientific, or other technical discipline and possess the ability to understand the “big picture” of a project while also being able to be extremely detail oriented when overseeing / completing individual tasks.

The Boeing Commercial Airplanes ECS Customer Introduction and Integration team supports 767/777 Legacy/777-9/777-8F customer introductions by overseeing & integrating multiple ECS engineering disciplines’ statement of work into the required customer introduction development and build schedules.  Our team integrates with multiple internal and external engineering, scheduling, and manufacturing disciplines to develop amazing products.  We are looking for a creative, high-performance technical leader to join our team as a project manager!

Position Responsibilities:

  • The individual  will be responsible for overseeing the ECS organization’s customer introduction baseline work statement; integrating with external organizations; assessing / integrating any configuration changes into the existing engineering and build schedules; and reporting status, along with risks, issues, and opportunities, to senior level management.

  • Be the primary point of contact for ECS organization for a given customer intro project.

  • Oversee ECS’s customer intro project from initial sales campaign through implementation, engineering release, build, and ultimately delivery.

  • Scrutinize the customer introduction project requirements, schedule, configuration details and other pertinent data and disseminate this information to the responsible ECS engineering team(s).

  • Maintain the organization’s templated work statement & coordinate changes amongst the engineering groups and the scheduling organization.

  • Oversee ECS’s work that directly supports some “Program Milestones”, communicate status to the Program and ECS management & validate ECS’s compliance prior to closure.

  • Schedule, review (for process compliance, and ideally technical merit), and approve engineering’s work statements for a customer introduction project.

  • Work with engineering to develop ECS’s assessment (technical viability, schedule impacts, cost impacts, etc.) of new features and/or proposed changes to a customer introduction project.

  • Proactively work with management, engineers, schedulers, and other team’s project managers to identify and resolve any technical, schedule, or other issues that may arise during the course of the project.

  • Document lessons learned, revise and/or develop best practice guides for CI team and support peer review meetings

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of ECS’s subsystems, their role in customer introductions, and options / features that impact them.

  • The position requires interaction with multiple “internal” engineering disciplines within ECS, as well as, “external” engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Interiors, and occasionally Structures.  There is also a high level of interaction with the engineering and scheduling organizations that oversee the customer introduction project at the airplane level.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 1+ years of experience in an engineering discipline

  • Understand / follow technical process documents and process flows and be able to apply them directly to a project.

  • Understand engineering work statements, drawings, and other technical documents as they will be responsible assessing whether or not they fulfill the project requirements.
