The Market Manager is responsible for the growth and profitability of their designated segment. The Market Manager achieves this through defining clear go-to-market strategies, driving new product developments, and leading all Voice of the Customer efforts. Working collaboratively with the entire Marketing Team and R&D, the Market Manager drives new product developments from the idea to launch stage. The Market Manager works with the marketing communication team to drive demand and lead generation through clear product positioning and differentiation while working with sales to execute the go-to-market price and place strategy to achieve growth targets. The Market Manager works closely with sales to augment market intelligence, clearly communicate go-to-market strategy, and collaborate on go-to-market strategy implementation.
- Manage and drive sales growth by ensuring product portfolio meets the needs of the market and achieves competitive strategy. – 35%
- Drive New Product Development process including:
- Drive the new product and service ideas generation and selection process
- Manage portfolio of new developments to maximize growth according to market strategy
- Build the business case for new products and champion through stage-gate process
- Clearly define market need-based design criteria for new product developments
- Integrate Voice of the Customer activities into new product development including deploying design criteria validation surveys, first look trials, and field trials
- Gather market and customer needs through Voice of the Customer and represent the market and customer needs, acting as the Voice of the Customer in all activities
- Drive New Product Development process including:
- Manage and drive profitability – 30%
- Product mix optimization
- Feature set and cost optimization
- Management of cost saving initiatives
- Clearly articulating the feature value of products in the market to drive value pricing execution
- Place strategies including target market segments, personas, and optimization of distributor network
- Develop and maintain 3-5 year go to Market strategies – 30%
- Current state of market including clearly defined market segments and personas
- Product including proactively manage product lifecycles
- Manage product pricing including gathering insight on competitive price, benchmarking features between products and competitors, and making price change recommendations based on market conditions and segment goals
- Conduct annual go-to-market strategy refreshes including gaining support of changes from the business and cascading the update strategy across local functions and global support teams
- Drive implementation of go-to-market strategy through collaboration with the business
- Subject matter expert providing valuable insight internally and in the industry – 5%
- Product subject matter expert to marketing communications, Training, Technical Service and Sales Team
- Act as industry expert understanding competitive landscape, economic trends, forecasts and industry regulations and trade factors
- Represent Bostik in applicable industry trade associations
- Work with the Marketing Communication Manager to finalize competitive product positioning considering market needs, competitive offer, and marketing communication strategies
- Contribute to marketing communications planning by clearly articulating the market segment objectives, competitive landscape, and target market/segments
7+ years of experience in sales or marketing in a B2B market
Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
- Financial Acumen
- Analytical, data driven mindset
- Able to effectively organize, prioritize, and delegate work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must be able to navigate a matrix organization serving multiple segments to optimize engagement in projects to drive results
- Leadership skills with experience and comfort in owning cross-functional projects
- Ability to move projects from concept to completion
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of time
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong experience with MS Office: Excel and Powerpoint
- Must possess a high sense of critical thinking capabilities
- Must be highly collaborative and have a strong sense of teamwork
- Must be able to act independently, while collaborating with a variety of internal and external teams
- Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
- Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
