Actuarial Associate, Valuation

Job Duties Include:
• Develops proficiency with corporate software, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
• Performs technical calculations in support of actuarial valuation and financial reporting
• Demonstrates independence in compilation of data for analysis, maintenance of required databases and in preparation of required management reports
• Demonstrates an understanding of insurance products and terminology
• Effectively uses company data files and administrative systems
• Develops ad hoc actuarial reports/tools as needed
• Assists in coding and testing of new products or updating models
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have a minimum of 3-year experience in a role requiring actuarial analysis and 3 actuarial exams passed
• Must have working knowledge of valuation/projection software such as ArcVal, MG-ALFA, or Prophet
• Must be working towards and making satisfactory progress toward ASA or FSA designation, completing required training and examinations, and achieving required certifications
• Strong knowledge of life insurance and annuity products
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent education and experience required
• Strong analytical, problem solving, technical, documentation, and communication skills
• Working knowledge of SQL database and VBA
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge insurance products, including life, annuity, and supplemental health products
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with others
• Good time-management skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python, R) is a plus
• Paying attention to details
• Enjoys working hard, looks for challenges, and seeks opportunities for improvement
