The Senior Accounts Receivable Analyst is a key member of the finance team responsible for managing end-to-end accounts receivable operations. This role ensures the timely collection of outstanding receivables, oversees customer account accuracy, and partners cross-functionally to resolve billing issues and disputes. The analyst plays a critical role in month-end close activities, including rebate accruals and A/R reporting, and drives continuous improvement to optimize cash flow and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of customer accounts, proactively managing collections, ensuring timely payments, and minimizing aged receivables.
- Analyze and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accurate invoicing, payment application, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Lead the dispute management process, partnering with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to investigate and resolve issues, issue credit memos, and prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries related to A/R, including rebate accruals, write-offs, and adjustments.
- Generate and analyze A/R aging reports, bad debt trends, and other metrics to support cash forecasting and executive reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explaining A/R-related transactions and controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements to accelerate collections, reduce manual effort, and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with company credit policies and SOX/internal control requirements.
You bring these skills, experience & education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable, ideally in a manufacturing or B2B environment.
- Strong understanding of collections processes, credit risk, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers and internal teams professionally and effectively.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
