Job Summary
Reporting to the VP, IT Operations, the Director of Enterprise Applications is responsible for the management and implementation of applications and solutions that support our financial and other operating teams. This role has responsibility for domestic enterprise systems and will partner closely with Aimbridge business partners and 3rd party vendors to deliver effective, efficient, and scalable solutions. This individual is responsible for providing oversight and direction for existing applications and effectively managing third party partnerships. Individual will be responsible for managing internal and external teams and will identify opportunities to support their professional development. The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in enterprise application management and will have experience working closely with business partners for continuous improvement. Key systems under the purview of this position include enterprise resource planning, financial and reporting systems and various third-party SaaS solutions.
Responsibilities
Education & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or other bachelor’s degree with information technology focus with at least 10 years of experience in an IT management role in a large organization or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years’ experience with SAP, JD Edwards, or similar ERP
- Experience with additional Enterprise Systems is preferred
- Experience with ERP migration projects, especially moving from JDE to SAP preferred
- Strong understanding of routine accounting processes and functional ERP modules
- Self-starter with proven ability to direct and manage internal and external resources
- Experience developing scalable solution roadmaps with high quality deliverables
- Architecture experience effectively integrating solutions to seamlessly support business objectives
- Strong understanding of IT governance, system, and organizational controls (SOC 1), and change management best practices
- Experience implementing and managing SLAs to ensure quality delivery of SaaS and hosted applications
- Experience negotiating third party hosting and support agreements for business-critical applications
- Proven track record of building high performing teams internal and external teams
- Proven track record in building synergetic and collaborative relationships with business partners, IT and 3rd party vendors
- Excellent vendor management skills
- Experience deploying and using devops tools to deliver quality products
Job Duties & Functions
- Responsible for performance, availability, security, incident monitoring, privacy and data management, access management support (SSO, user access reviews, interfaces, group policies, network controls), disaster recovery testing, change management, support and other critical functions for Aimbridge enterprise systems (e.g. ERP, RPA, Salesforce, and other third-party SaaS applications)
- Provide technical leadership with focus on application and process innovation. Build business cases for new technologies and tools to improve products and end user experience.
- Participate in cross-functional steering committees to ensure alignment with business partners on technology priorities and resource utilization
- Ensure project deliverables are created by our 3rd party implementation vendors (requirements, designs, test plans, etc.) on behalf of Aimbridge
- Provides architecture, interface documentation, data flows, and asset documentation as needed to support the applications
- Provide input in buildout of department capital and operating budgets
- Partner with hotel technology, Support Services, Operations, and Transitions team to provide best in industry services, support and training for hotel and corporate users of Aimbridge enterprise systems
- Ensure systems and processes achieve system and organizational controls (SOC 1) objectives and follow an Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance (Q/A) practices
- Manage third party vendor relationships to achieve business objectives and meet expected SLAs with high quality including quarterly business reviews
- Partner closely with information security and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal application performance and security
- Develop and report key performance indicators for internal systems and manage third party periodic vendor performance reporting
- Active participation and direction in internal and external project meetings
- Participation in evaluation for new system requirements providing technical input/requirements, supporting Project Management and IT Category Manager as needed for new business applications
