What you’ll do:

• Maintain lines of communication (verbal/written) between BFCC QIO and involved healthcare providers.
• Produce written Initial and Final Sanction Notices and EMTALA communications.
• Maintain case file with all supporting documentation.
• Monitor provider Corrective Action Plan (CAP); provide technical assistance for developing and refining CAP; reviews submitted CAP data.
• Provide monthly summaries for COR reports.
• Produce written OIG referral, if necessary.
• Review all EMTALA referrals.
• Facilitate Sanction and 60-day EMTALA hearings.
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

Required Qualifications

Unrestricted, active RN license required.

BSN, Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM); Licensed Health Risk manager (LHRM); or Associate’ in Risk Management (ARM), preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Demonstrated experience in QI, reviewing and investigating patient complaints.
• Previous experience in communicating with patients, family members, healthcare providers/practitioners, and government officials.
• Proficiency in planning, coordinating, and implementing patient and staff safety procedures.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize with variable and sometimes conflicting deadlines; superior attention to detail w/analytical skills and demonstrated ability in decision-making.
• Demonstrated initiative and judgment in performance of job responsibilities, while maintaining professionalism, flexibility and dependability under pressure.
• Strong communication (written/verbal), interpersonal, organizational, time management and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service, including building and maintaining relationships with internal/external customers and facilitating meetings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to research/identify and apply appropriate standards of care.
• Interest in continuous learning and a commitment to staying informed on regulatory changes.

Experience

• 5 or more years of clinical experience in either a short-term acute care hospital or skilled nursing facility required.
• 5 or more years of previous experience as a claims or risk manager preferred.
