Role Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Vessel Chartering Executive to join our Offshore team in Houston. You will establish and strengthen relationships with clients and develop new business. The person in this role will have experience with vessel chartering within the Offshore sector. You will be driven, commercially minded, personable and a strong relationship builder.

 

What you’ll be doing
• Establish day-to-day contact with shipowners and oil majors to develop business in the offshore segment.
• Understand offshore vessels, market fundamentals and negotiation.

• Maintain a database of vessel positions, prepare market information and reports for clients.

• Set up and negotiate deals, including extensive relationship building activities to develop business and drive revenue (including presenting the business to potential clients, negotiating the main terms of a contract and seeing it through to its conclusion and ensuring the completion of any follow-up that may be involved is undertaken).

• Maintain and strengthen close working relationships with clients.

• Source new clients and seek to identify new business opportunities in the offshore market, relating to trends, future markets and clients.
• Attend meetings and events with clients when required. Travel as needed.
• Attend industry meetings and events.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the market space.

Other requirements
• Knowledge / experience of Offshore shipping and an understanding of the Offshore market.
• Previous experience within broking advantageous.
• Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
• Personable and engaging, able to confidently build strong relationships.
• Good commercial judgement with good negotiation skills.
• Driven, self-motivated and client focused.
• Good numeracy skills and excellent presentation skills.
• Confident and able to work well under pressure, with ability to adapt.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
• Team player with a flexible approach.
• Good MS office skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
