About the role

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uses financial data to prepare and record general ledger journal entries.
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Analyzes the financial statements and provides concise explanations for variances.
  • Researches period over period variances in changes in inventory, inventory adjustments, and cost of sales and provides logical explanations for the fluctuations.
  • Assists internal clients by providing relevant and concise information around account reconciliations, income statement analyses, and any other required information pertaining to the entity.

 

  • Reconcile external inventory reporting from 3rd party contractors with internal inventory reporting and communicate findings with Operations.

 

  • Participates in annual audits and special projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. This role typically requires 4- 6 years of experience in accounting or related discipline. Public accounting experience is a plus.

 

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, practices and procedures.
  • Skill in analytical and statistical examination for complex problem solving. 
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Experience building macros in Microsoft Excel is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports.
  • Ability to understand financial information.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and levels within the organization.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in an organized manner and consistently follow-up on tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to design, document, and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public.
  • Experience in inventory is a plus, not required.
  • Ability to present and communicate significant financial information.
