Greenhouse is looking for a Senior Director of Product Design to join our team!

Reporting directly to our Chief Product Officer and working alongside leaders across our R&D organization and business functions, you will set vision and execute strategy for Greenhouse’s Product Design and Content Design functions. You’ll lead and grow teams of designers to create a seamless experience across our entire product suite that sets Greenhouse apart from our competition and continues to positively impact hiring teams across the globe. As the Senior Director of Product Design, you’ll increase the innate value customers get from our software, driving adoption and stemming churn, ultimately impacting our ability to meet and exceed our company’s objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Define and nurture our ever-evolving Product and Content Design function
  • Design innovative and user-optimized software that increases automated workflows and simplifies decision-making within the hiring process
  • Provide feedback in design critiques and support team to work through challenges cross-functionally
  • Leverage data and lead research initiatives to uncover user-problems and inform decisions
  • Partner with leads in Product Management, Technology, and customer-facing teams to set direction and priorities for the R&D organization
  • Shape a design-driven culture across Greenhouse by engaging other teams early in the research and design process
  • Collaborate and experiment with our machine learning team to explore how machine learning capabilities can continue to be translated into meaningful solutions that address pervasive user needs
  • Establish and reinforce consistent design patterns within our design system
  • Coach the design team members to help them perform at their best and support their ongoing professional development
  • Shape a team environment where team members feel safe to openly communicate and take risks

You should have

  • Seven years of experience leading or managing a design team and 12 years in UX/ UX Design
  • Experience attracting, hiring, and growing high-caliber design talent
  • Prior success in growing multi-disciplinary design teams of Product and Content Designers
  • Past experience designing and deploying AI automation features
  • A proven track record of designing software products in the Enterprise B2B space, either executed by yourself or a team
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and accessibility standards 
  • A deep understanding of research and design tools such as Figma 
  • A keen attention to detail to provide designers with timely feedback to enable them to consistently deliver quality work
  • The ability to unblock your team and unlock their potential via growth-minded leadership
  • Experience driving cross-collaboration with leaders from Product Management and Engineering teams to define strategy, vision, and execution
  • Comfort owning, delegating, and driving a wide range of initiatives at the same time

The national pay range for this role is $282,500 - $423,800. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
