The Team:
The Visual Merchandising team supports the Hermès of Paris US network by enhancing the in-store client experience through targeted and strategic display of merchandise collections, while also optimizing sales. This position will report to the Senior Manager Visual Merchandising, West and will work collaboratively as partners in Retail, Client Experience, and Communications driven activities, lending their expertise to elevate and evolve the brand identity in a fast-paced, luxury environment.
The Opportunity:
As the Visual Merchandising Manager, South Coast Plaza, you will be responsible for the quality and consistency of visual merchandising at the South Coast Plaza boutique. This position is based in the South Coast Plaza boutique requiring extensive in-store merchandising and an ability to merge commercial and aesthetic concerns through the improvement of in-store appearance; interpreting Group guidelines to enhance the store atmosphere, the client experience, and business goals. The Visual Merchandising Manager will be an important business partner to the store management team and will need to demonstrate agility and excellent communication in day-to-day tasks and projects.
About the Role:
- Maintain and elevate visual displays across all selling floors.
- Partner with store team, Managing Directors, Regional VP of Retail, Senior Manager Visual Merchandising West, and corporate partners to address sales challenges and formulate strategies, leveraging visual display to action them.
- Support selling events and animations through VM guidance and implementation.
- Educate store team and métier specialists on VM standards and seasonal métier guidelines.
- VM training guidance for the store team during daily, weekly, and monthly store meetings to be conducted by public speaking in large store team group settings.
- Aid in the replenishment of items sold from displays.
- Order and maintain appropriate levels of display props, meant to enhance visual presentation.
- Provide regular, qualitative feedback and images to Corporate VM department and International VM department as needed.
- Support window installations; working with Windows Manager and installation vendors, providing visual merchandising support to animate and enhance window installations.
- Maintain sales floor and stockroom organization product care to standards in compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Occasionally travel to support other locations as needed.
- Assist with new store openings and renovations as needed.

- Daily training and coaching with store team to ensure VM presentations are to standards.
- In partnership with store management, this role will act as a point of contact for all internal and external visual merchandising concerns and will support all operations and asset protection guidelines.

- Local visual display planning and actioning as relates to US VM department and International VM department objectives.
- On-site judgement calls and problem-solving during window installations, as needed.
- Guide the decision-making process regarding in-store animations, liaising with Special Events and Client Experience teams to optimize scaling of animations based on store architecture and layout.
About You:
- Minimum 5-8 years of Visual Merchandising experience in a luxury environment.
- Leadership or supervisory experience in previous role preferred.
- A leader with the ability to clearly communicate objectives.
- Ability to interpret guidelines and adapt them in a manner consistent with Group standards.
- Passion in learning about all the Hermès Métiers and history.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency, excels in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize effectively and work well under pressure.
