Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).

Associate Director, Specialty and IDN Operations
Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Specialty and IDN Operations is responsible for directing, monitoring, and enhancing specialty pharmacy operations within Madrigal’s Market Access and Trade team. The AD manages the dispensing operations across the channel to drive continuous improvement in patient access and adherence, while delivering a best-in-class patient and prescriber experience. This individual collaborates with key internal stakeholders including Patient Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and the Market Access field team to identify patient access opportunities and implement impactful solutions. Additionally, the AD engages external stakeholders in day-to-day program operations and analysis of key data and KPI’s to ensure contractual obligations are meeting/exceeding obligations. This position reports to the Senior Director, Specialty and Trade Operations.
Position Responsibilities:
Acquire and maintain deep understanding of NASH disease state, Rezdiffra™ clinical data and commercialization strategy
Closely monitor SP and IDN performance to ensure contractual obligations are meeting / exceeding obligations
Implement specialty pharmacy program services, enhancements, and operational efficiencies with the goal of positively impacting patient access, adherence, awareness, and affordability
Maintain SP and IDN program correspondence, scripting, and collateral via internal legal and regulatory approval processes
Partner with internal operations and data analytics teams to continuously evaluate and analyze specialty pharmacy vendor performance relative to goals and objectives
Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s) and other summits with specialty pharmacies; prepare all materials, communicate expectations to vendors, and continuously drive performance while identifying key insights to incorporate into strategic planning efforts
Collaborate closely with Consumer Marketing and Patient Access teams to enhance SP program to continuously meet the needs of HCP’s and patients Develop and communicate key messages to internal and external channel partners Oversee operational plans, project budgets, expenses, and timelines
Create and maintain necessary policies, procedures, and business rules for all distribution programs Consistently deliver measurable business outcomes based on program-level key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide timely program-level reporting to leadership
Consistently deliver outcomes with cross functional impact, tackle projects with increased complexity, and influence change management to operations function across internal teams
Ensure the highest level of ethics, quality, and compliance by demonstrating in depth knowledge of laws that govern market access and channel activities
Conducts all activities in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and company policies
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Business or Pharmacy preferred
10+ years of related experience in the biopharma industry with a proven, consistent history of high performance in a broad range of leadership roles of increasing responsibilities
3 - 5 years of healthcare industry customer/vendor management experience strongly preferred
