About Product Management within Data Services

  • Our Data Services Product Management team focuses on three keep principles – know your customer, listen to your data, and build agile.We believe that innovation comes from research and expertise being mixed into taking risks and iterative development. If you have a working experience in big data technologies (Hadoop/HDFS, Kafka, data pipelines, blob storage, distributed file systems, big data storage format, Spark, etc.) and love delivering real value to users through frequent iterations, you’ll be right at home in the Relativity Product Management team.  You’ll have a huge impact in shaping our product direction andthe problems we choose to solve.  We seek collaborative leaders who want to move fast and love a challenge. 

About the Product Manager - Data Services Role

  • The Product Management team is looking for a Product Manager whose collaborative nature and strong communication skills complement experience with cloud data technology.Focused on Relativity’s next generation distributed data storage and processing technology, you will be responsible for understanding the needs of cross-functional engineering customers and identifying innovation opportunities across the platform. Relativity is working to build out the tools needed to process the legal industry’s next challenge – messaging data. You will work hard to prioritizing items according to our product and business strategy and collaborate with your Engineering Manager partner to build distributed data ops tools and platforms that will power Relativity and win the industry at a critical influx point. With petabytes of potential messaging data ready to be unlocked, we have an unmatched industry opportunity to create data solutions that power the pursuit of justice globally. You will lead the charge. 

Your Role In Action

  • Partner with a team of data engineers, cloud engineers, and data ops experts to build, deploy, monitor, and improve distributed data ops platforms and tooling. 
  • Deeply understand our product and our users across our 4 segments – corporates, law firms, service providers, and government agencies 
  • Deeply understand your internal engineering customers – what their needs are, and how to superpower their own applications 
  • Clearly communicate product details to internal/external stakeholders in role-specific levels of detail 
  • Collect, organize, and prioritize product requests and challenges from our users and internal stakeholders (other PMs, architects, data scientists), providing compelling and concise business cases to justify and explain product work 
  • Be a proponent of observability, monitoring, and testing to ensure your product releases are performant and stable – and that you know when you’ve been successful  
  • Translate high-level objectives into low-level stories with requirements for improving the Data Services platform and products 
  • Inspire teams by bringing a deep sense of empathy for our users’ problems and familiarity with their workflows 
  • Discover and explore business data sources and emerging cloud data technologies to drive innovation across the product line 
  • Manage defect prioritization
