Job Description
The Transformation Lead will work as part of a dynamic team to deliver new intelligent hospitals as part of the New Hospital Programme. The role will focus on implementing digital transformation initiatives and ensuring the alignment of these initiatives with national standards and strategic goals. The post holder will have two primary areas of responsibility:
- Lead and develop national standards and guidance for digital, data and technology for the New Hospital Programme.
- Lead and develop optimal approaches to digital transformation in the context of new hospital design and delivery.
The role supports the NHP in driving transformation and innovation as well as value for money in new hospital development across planning, commissioning and service delivery. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.
Key role responsibilities
The Digital Transformation Lead will:
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across the New Hospital Programme, ensuring alignment with programme strategic objectives and goals.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during periods of transformation and foster a culture of innovation.
- Conduct thorough horizon scanning to identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in digitally enabled healthcare, and provide insights and recommendations to the NHP working in conjunction with Innovation colleagues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement standards and policies that promote efficiency, patient safety, and quality of care delivery.
- Drive and manage transformation projects, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion and achievement of desired outcomes.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, empowering them to effectively execute change initiatives and drive sustainable results.
- Foster collaboration and engagement with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, including healthcare professionals, clinical teams, and senior leaders.
- Foster collaboration and engagement with stakeholders across NHS Trusts.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and requirements within the healthcare sector and ensure compliance and adherence to relevant guidelines and standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of transformation initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and making necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes in partnership with benefits and change subject-matter experts engaged on the NHP.
- Author high quality content to be consumed by NHS Trusts and other workstreams within the Transformation and Delivery directorates of the NHP
- Work closely with the Senior Transformation Lead and members of the Digital SLT to ensure that the modernisation of relevant NHS services is carefully managed in such a way to as to enable seamless parallel running alongside any existing solutions with no degradation to the operational capability of the NHS services during the adoption and transformation phases.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area (digital, data and technology) and leading digital transformation or innovation functions in an NHS acute environment.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Detailed knowledge of the provision of health services.
