Sr. Compensation Analyst

The Sr. Compensation Analyst is responsible for all compensation analysis, administration and maintenance of compensation programs, including annual review process, equity issuance, and ensuring of standardized job descriptions. It drives Natera success through competitive compensation practices. The role will report the Sr. Director, Compensation and play an important role in executing day-to-day activities as well as longer term projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide analytical expertise and support on compensation decisions and incentive plan design
- Manage annual survey participation and conduct total compensation market analysis of positions to provide compensation recommendations
- Study market compensation surveys to understand the market ranges of pay for a job and recommend adjustments to comp levels accordingly.
- Perform benchmark job matching across survey sources.
- Align internal job description, build compensation levels and ranges
- Execute day to day operations activities including accrual reports and ad-hoc job pricing
- Prepare analyses and presentations to communicate compensation policies, procedures, and practices to other members of HR and senior management
- Help execute year-end compensation planning process including merit increase, bonus, and equity payments
- Design and prepare ad hoc compensation and budget related reports for management
- Review and support job descriptions and create roles/titles
- Contribute ideas to improving HR programs and processes. Work on improvement projects as needed.
- Formulate pay trends and scope differentials to make economic adjustments to the data to stay competitive
- Lead monthly equity exhibit processing for stock administration
- Educate managers on compensation administration and planning processes
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years either in-house compensation or at a compensation consulting firm
- Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in a quantitative/analytical major such as economics, finance, business, math, statistics, etc., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Self-starter with extreme detail orientation
- Team player with a can-do attitude who is flexible and comfortable with changing priorities/deadlines
- Intellectually curious – willingness to challenge the status quo and create high quality outputs
- Advanced Excel skills – including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop solid relationships with HR colleagues and vendors
- Comfortable handling confidential and highly sensitive data
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of compensation practices
- Ability to work with multiple external and internal sources and stakeholders, balance priorities, provide concise and accurate analysis.
- Experience with HRIS systems, Workday preferred
- Thorough knowledge of job evaluation processes, salary administration state and federal laws, compensation and pay practices.
- Ability to create reports and manage data in excel and HRIS systems.
- High detail orientation with emphasis on accuracy
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job will require extensive work with computer and telephone.
- Fluent English skills are needed to ensure proper communication.
- This job may require working outside of normal working hours.
