Summary
The Director of Clinical Education & Development, under the direction of the Sr. Director of Clinical Education, is responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide clinical education programs, curricula, and learning strategies across all hospitals. This role ensures that educational content reflects current evidence-based practice, clinical guidelines, and organizational priorities. Working closely with clinical, quality, safety, and regulatory leaders, the Director translates identified workforce education needs into scalable,
engaging, and effective learning solutions.
This position partners with the Director of Clinical Education Operations to ensure that educational programs are implemented, tracked, and evaluated consistently across the system. This role also leads initiatives to advance instructional quality, develop preceptors and educators, and in partnership with the informatics and data teams, integrate innovative educational methodologies and technology.

Job Functions:
- Lead the design and development, and maintenance of enterprise-wide curricula for orientation, competencies, and continuing education, based on identified needs from quality, safety, compliance, and regulatory teams.
- Translate evidence-based guidelines, policies, and emerging clinical practices into accessible, learner-centered education for non-provider clinical staff.
- Maintain and continuously update educational content to reflect emerging evidence, practice changes, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Advanced Learning Center (ALC) leadership and learning designers to develop new content, update existing curricula, and leverage platform capabilities for innovative learning solutions.
- Integrate adult learning theory, simulation, microlearning, and innovative technology solutions to improve learner engagement and retention.
- Develop systemwide training programs for preceptors, clinical educators, and subject-matter experts to strengthen teaching skills and ensure consistency across facilities.
- Evaluate emerging trends in healthcare education and recommend innovative approaches that advance workforce competency.
- Mentor facility-based educators in instructional design, adult learning principles, and program evaluation techniques.
- Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional growth among educators across the system.
- Partner with the Director of Clinical Education Operations to ensure content is delivered effectively, tracked accurately, and evaluated against organizational goals.
- Use outcome data, learner feedback, and quality metrics to refine educational content and improve overall program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams (quality, safety, HR, compliance, service lines) to ensure education aligns with strategic priorities and performance improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions
- Serve as the enterprise clinical content and education strategy leader, accountable for ensuring that curricula are evidence-based, current, and aligned with organizational priorities, and that clinical subject matter is accurately translated into effective learning experiences in partnership with the Advanced Learning Center (ALC) team.
