We’re seeking a Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our customers. Epworth House provides 13 self-contained apartments for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities, who require help and support with their everyday needs. If you want to make a positive impact to people’s lives, this is a rewarding opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced team.

 

We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Support Assistant will include:

• Providing a high quality, hands on, personalised care and support service
• Supporting customers to build the confidence they need to gain further independence
• Encouraging customers to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning and being an active part of the community

• Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our customers
• Maintaining a safe environment for customers, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices

 

Skills and experiences:

• Experience of working with vulnerable people is desirable
• NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be assertive will be key to your success
• Ability to demonstrate a positive and accepting approach to clients whatever their needs
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
• Ability to prioritise and organise workload
