The Mental Health Clinician Associate is responsible for providing mental health counseling and outreach that is responsive to the unique backgrounds and needs of individuals, couples, and groups. This role supports the mission of University Health Services by fostering the mental well-being and holistic development of Texas A&M students.
What you need to know
Salary: Starting at $61,000/annually and will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
Location/Schedule: College Station, TX/Full-Time; This position may require a flexible schedule for evening and weekend work for outreach and/or crisis response.

Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners for Professional Counselors, Social Workers, or Marriage and Family Therapists.
Successful completion of relevant practicum/internship training as required by the Texas Behavior Health Executive Council.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Must be a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-A), or Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
Must be independently licensed in the state of Texas within 3 years of employment.
Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a University or College counseling center.
Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment.
Experience in providing outreach and mental health education.
Ability to provide clinical counseling in more than one language utilized by A&M students.
