The Director of Business Operations is responsible for cross-functional leadership, working with stakeholders across the enterprise to drive transformation and change for Operations. This position leads initiative coordination, change support/management, special projects, and holistic Operations strategy support. The Director serves as the connection to Strategy Enablement, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and Learning (TDL), RBD, MCI, Employee Engagement, Quality Care, Claims, and other enterprise functions.
- Drive cross-functional leadership and transformation efforts across Operations, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and objectives.
- Oversee initiative coordination and special projects to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic priorities.
- Lead change management efforts to support smooth transitions for new processes, features, and capabilities.
- Collaborate with Strategy Enablement and enterprise functions to identify dependencies, impacts, and targeted results for new initiatives.
- Support the development of process improvement initiatives and roadmaps, scanning the organizational landscape for opportunities while accounting for in-flight projects.
- Develop and manage annual department and project budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Communicate and enforce adherence to standard operating policies and procedures to meet division goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and internal customers to ensure a collaborative working environment.
- Represent the division in inter-divisional meetings, enterprise-wide projects, and other strategic initiatives.
- Ensure staff receives ongoing training and development by collaborating with the division trainer to create written materials and procedures.
- 12+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, including 3+ years of management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare, benefits industries, and dental procedure codes and nomenclature.
- Proven experience in contact center concepts, telecommunications technology, and enterprise operations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and strategic planning.
- Strong analytical skills to identify and evaluate business solutions.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and effectively manage division activities enterprise-wide.
- Knowledge of Delta Dental products, policies, claims, and eligibility systems.
- Familiarity with systems development projects and major contact center and claims systems.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and roadmap development.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 24. $122,400 - $265,100
