Director of Product Group

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Director to lead our development teams. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team of project managers and driving the successful execution of our technology insertion, product development and product support projects, for GKN aerospace engines GE, Safran and RR business. You will act as the focal point towards the IPT Teams and Program Directors to support with the governance of the complete project portfolio and take an active part in strategic planning of future initiatives and BD activities concerning the Business area

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of project managers in the execution of product development projects, ensuring successful project delivery, on-time performance, and quality.
• Develop and implement project management best practices and tools, including project planning, risk management, issue management, and communication plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IPT Management, engineering, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure successful project execution and alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
• Monitor and report on project progress, status, and risks to leadership, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and tools to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall project performance.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers, including developing their skills and capabilities, and ensuring their professional growth and success.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace engines product development, including experience in project management and leadership roles.
• Strong technical expertise in aerospace engines and related systems, including knowledge of design, development, and optimization processes.
• Demonstrated experience in project management best practices and tools, including project planning, risk management, issue management, and communication plans.
• Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead and inspire teams, and drive innovation and change.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
