Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Critical Environment Support Assistant, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities
Equipment and Systems Operations
- Supports colleagues as an assistant.
- Adds required data, documents changes and upkeep of procedures and building management systems.
- Participates in the creation of incident timelines/data, root-cause analyses, and/or action items following an abnormal condition as required.
Equipment and Systems Maintenance
- Provides maintenance assistance by prepping materials and performing administrative tasks as instructed.
- Prepares paperwork in support of maintenance planning scope.
Team Management Support
- Serve as the main point of contact for the team on for operational and administrative needs, Coordinate and communicate process, procedure, or system changes to site teams and Coordinate and schedule training for site staff.
- Assist with onboarding new employees (e.g., ordering new hire equipment, setting up workstations, managing distribution lists, security groups) under the direction of team members.
- Create and submit requests for datacenter access using the Data Center Access Tool and provide onsite team support and carry out tasks under the direction of others and Provide basic system-use training to onsite staff, new hires, and general small-scale training for site staff.
- Assist in managing the Critical Environment SharePoint site by creating and moving scope through workflows.
- Support uniform management, including ordering, distribution, and cancellation as needed and assist with flyer and signage creation, including design and production, as needed.
Critical Environment Culture
- Support the development of Methods of Operating Procedure (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by monitoring documents through approval workflows, reviewing and editing documents, and formatting into standard SOP/MOP templates.
- Assists in managing CE SharePoint site by helping create and move scope through workflows.
- Provides onsite team support and carries out tasks under direction of others.
- Learns to take accountability for their components of assigned project outcomes.
- Seeks to ask questions and share ideas related to projects.

Physical Requirements (Applies to but is not limited to US-based Data Center roles)
- Occasional climbing of ladders.
- Frequent climbing of stairs and/or ramps.
- Prolonged standing.
- Occasional lifting 50lbs. / 22.5kg.
- Occasional push or pull 50-75lbs. / 22.5-34kg. with assistive device.
- Normal visual acuity (near, far and peripheral with correction).
- Normal color vision for electrical work.
