This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located in Central Office in the Office of Financial Management department
This position's purpose is to ensure the integrity of the Department's financial data and regulatory compliance by managing day-to-day reconciliation, executing accurate accounting codes in the legacy and transitioning systems, and facilitating routine and year-end financial reporting.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Assist with monthly and fiscal year-end closing processes for the department.
- Perform financial reporting and reconciliation tasks, including reconciling FLAIR/PALM, cash receipts/disbursements, property, and interfund/interagency transactions.
- Support preparation of annual financial forms and schedules for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) in compliance with GAAP and state financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor fund balances and Trial Balance daily, identify discrepancies, and coordinate resolutions.
- Provide technical assistance to staff to prevent errors and support reconciliation efforts.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses, assist with Florida PALM implementation, and prepare various reports and correspondence.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess three or more years of State of Florida accounting experience.
PREFFERRED:
-
- Two (2) or more years of FLAIR/PALM experience.
- Experience creating and/or maintaining the FLAIR/PALM Chart of Accounts codes.
- Experience creating accounting entries and reconciling financial information.
- State of Florida year-end processing experience and/or experience in preparing governmental financial statement.
