Job Description

Role Purpose

Wood Mackenzie Power and Renewables provides integrated subscription, research and advisory services to inform and support our client’s commercial and strategic decisions in the complex and rapidly changing electric power industry.

Combining our deep knowledge of solar, wind, storage, and grid technologies, with our global power and fuels modelling and analytical capabilities, Wood Mackenzie can provide data and insight spanning supply chain, technology costs, policy and market issues, fundamentals-based outlooks, price forecasting, asset valuation, and commodity market issues.

This role will serve as part of Wood Mackenzie’s Power and Renewables team, with a focus on offshore wind capex modelling. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and play a key role in strengthening our capex modelling and shape market leading tools. You will have a global remit, working in our global offshore wind team. Together with the team, you will provide market intelligence and analysis for companies across the offshore wind value chain, including asset owners, developers, suppliers, and investors. The current volatility in offshore wind capex, and the long-term trajectories of offshore wind component costs, is a major topic across all offshore wind companies. So, through this role, you will not only help companies achieve their strategic goals; you will also have a meaningful impact on the wider energy transition.

Wood Mackenzie is a leading intelligence provider in the offshore wind space.  You will have access to 15+ years of offshore wind research, data, models, and expertise that you will be able to leverage every day. As capex is foundational in much of our research, you will influence research across the wider Wood Mackenzie business.

  • Lead and contribute to thought-leading research publications.
  • Ensure all deliverables are executed and delivered in a timely fashion to a high standard.

Networking and Industry collaboration

  • Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker;
    • Maintain and expand strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry and clients.
    • Strengthen your own brand and the Wood Mackenzie brand by speaking at conferences and engaging with the media.

  • Support and lead specific consulting assignments on offshore wind. This includes:
    • Strategy workshops with market leaders across the sector.
    • Commercial due diligence on companies in the offshore wind supply chain.

Business Development

  • Work directly with sales and marketing via internal and external communications to actively help generate new sales, build larger programs for existing clients, and effectively market completed research.
  • Present at Wood Mackenzie and industry-sponsored events, and moderate client webinars.
