Overview

Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, the world’s pre-eminent distributor of wine and spirits, is currently seeking to hire an experienced Business Continuity professional manage the continued development and execution of the Business Continuity program for our sales, warehouse, logistics, and distribution operations throughout the West Region of the United States.

Primary Responsibilities

This position reports to the Senior Director, National Business Continuity. It is a highly visible position that will collaborate with staff at all levels of the organization to implement a comprehensive Business Continuity program to enable Southern Glazer’s to efficiently plan for and respond to a business interruption event. The responsibilities of this position include coordinating the development, testing, training, maintenance, and execution of both Business Continuity and Emergency Management plans for all functional areas of the business across all operating divisions in the West Region. This role includes being tactical in conducting organizational research; performing and evaluating business impact analyses and risk assessments; developing program policies, plans and procedures; coordinating testing and exercise activities; providing training and awareness communications; and leading the execution of continuity and incident response plans in the event of a business interruption event.

This position will also actively participate in the development of the corporate Business Continuity program which will deploy a standardized framework in support of a common governance, execution, and sustainable Business Continuity capability across all Southern Glazer’s operating divisions. This position is based in Santa Fe Springs, California.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a disciplined and highly motivated proven professional with demonstrated hands-on Business Continuity program execution experience in a large, distributed corporate environment.  In addition to having strong analytical, written, presentation, negotiating and technical skills, the successful candidate must have the ability to build teams, establish credibility, evangelize the program, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.   

Additional requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in Business Continuity.
  • An active Business Continuity certification (ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, ARM, CRM) is required.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of industry “best practice” frameworks including DRII, COBIT, NIST, ITIL, and ISO 22301.
  • Experience in supply chain logistics and warehouse distribution operations is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience managing large-scale business interruption events.
  • Disciplined program, project, and time management skills with the proven ability to work in a cross functional, matrixed, and diverse workforce environment.
  • Detail orientated and disciplined to solve complex problems with the ability to resolve issues and drive solutions that create win-win situations.
  • Proven experience communicating, presenting, and working with executive management.
  • Flexibility to travel – up to 30% may be required.
