What You’ll Do

As a Die Repair, you’ll be part of our Metals Plant team located in Chesterfield, MI. You’ll get to:

• Completes lay outs and machine spare details, assembles, and repairs tools.
• According to tool design, develops details capable of producing parts to specifications, utilizing various measuring instruments to determine proper tool construction for progressive, Fourslide and Bihler.
• Set up and operates tool room equipment, such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drills to machine parts to specifications.
• Cleans equipment and maintains housekeeping in immediate area.
• Perform quality checks with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment.
• Able to read and understand blueprints.
• Evaluate die strips and trouble shoot problems.

•  High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience with Die Repair

• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.  Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Obtain a Hilo license within the probationary period.
• Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, mensuration, logarithms, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry.

• Ability to read and write to follow quality and related instructions.
